I got a job!!! tee hee!

I will be working for an animal rescue organization as an adoption site supervisor. It’s super part time, but it should be so fulfilling working to get homes for cats and dogs. This organization has implemented an awesome working ferals program all over LA, too. What they do is relocate feral cats and bring them to a new location to help with rat infestations.

Yay for finding a job!  Yay for getting out of the house!  Yay for paychecks!

A few things…

James and I joined the gym today. I have an appointment with a personal trainer on Friday afternoon, which should be interesting.
If you haven’t noticed my new page “100 best songs” over on my sidebar, take a looksee. Help me with my little project. Once I get that done, I’ll do “100 best musical songs”. (Although I can probably do that myself)
Thank you, to those who helped me through my little pity party. It’s so easy for me to get bogged down. That’s something that I have been working on. And actually, it’s been much better since I quit my previous job. So, I am going to do this. Which will be a nice way to reverse my train of thought. It’s hard to feel sorry for yourself when you are finding things to be thankful for.

My second weigh in! 125.6 lbs.  I actually found the secret of my (future) success: Tea. Lots of tea. I caught a cold last week so I was drinking lots of tea and eating lots of soup and I was actually down to 125, but then I guess I lost my head tonight and ate too much.

And let me just set the record straight for those of you who are “worried” for me or as someone put it, “I don’t appreciate what I have”. That’s exactly it. I do appreciated what I have. AND, it’s about appreciating all I can be. The healthiest, happiest me. So, yes, I have some weight to lose. I am not comparing myself to anyone else, this is just about me. End of story.

Here’s a layout I did of my nephews Sean and Robby. They are just the sweetest little boys. I really like this layout, James, not so much. He says it’s boring that I didn’t use the whole space. So I said to him, ” :P ~~~~ “

I went to the Alex tonight to see a benefit concert featuring the songs of Alan Menken and Stephen Schwartz. Kind of a weird combination, I know, but it was so good. Some AMAZING singers. Kevin Earley did, “If I Can’t Love her” from Beauty and the Beast. It was as if the song was written for him. There were some hilarious songs like “Pink Fish” and “A Happy Working Song”. All the women were amazing. Julie Reiber was The Perfect Elphaba, she did “The Wizard and I” to perfection, Kim Huber did a beautiful “Meadowlark” from The Baker’s Wife. Beth Malone sang “The Life I Never Led” from Sister Act the Musical. The best part was hearing Alice Ripley sing her rendition of “West End Avenue” from The Magic Show. I have got to get that CD! It blew me away!!

Ahhh… I love musicals.

I have decided that I need to get off my lazy ass and lose some weight. For real now. Ugh.  I had been a steady participant at the gym (one of the few perks about my old office, a gym on the 1st floor) but since leaving, I have exercised twice. So, I am giving myself to the New Year to lose 15 pounds. That’s not so much is it? But in order for me to stick to it, I am going to do a weekly weigh in and post it on my blog. That way there’s Accountability, folks. No slinking off to the sidelines for me! I have been complaining almost all my life that I hated my weight, but I’m the only one who can do anything about it. And guess what? I did nothing! So, now that I have all this ‘free time’, I’m going to put it to good use.

Monday October 29
Weight: 128
I’d put my measurements out here, but I can’t find any of my tape measures. (Cristina probably stole them all! Ha!)

So come on, guys! Give me a support, encouragement, etc. Or you can tell me that I’m crazy and it will never work!

On another note, look what I made. I bought this kit last year  – just in time for the holidays. How slow am I?
